Art
Most of the art that was created by the Egyptians was inspired by their religion. A lot of art was put in tombs to help Pharaohs in the afterlife. The Egyptians made models of people and animals, and they put them on the walls of tombs and temples. In the drawings of people they can be seen doing everyday things such as baking, fishing, hunting, boating, etc. Egyptians created used clay to create pottery. Like the wall drawings, the design on the pottery often showed the Egyptians doing daily tasks. Some pottery also included hieroglyphics, which will be explained more below.

Writing
The Egyptians used hieroglyphics (as shown above). The word hieroglyphic means "holy writing". They believed that it was important to record information about their religion and government. They used hieroglyphics on walls, pottery, and papyrus. Papyrus is a wild plant that grows all over the Nile River Valley. The Egyptians took the papyrus and turned it into a kind of paper and begin to write on it with ink. On stone walls they carved and or painted the hieroglyphics.
